About Warren Leonard
Welcome! I'm a registered Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families through life's challenges. Originally from South Africa, where I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, I've called Saskatchewan home since 2022 and am a Registered Psychologist, with an Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE), at the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists (#1203).
My Approach
I believe that every client, be they children, adolescents, adults or families, has unique strengths waiting to be discovered, nurtured and actuated. My therapeutic approach is thoughtfully eclectic—while grounded in person-centered principles, I integrate various other therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral techniques, systems-based interventions, and transactional analysis to create personalized treatment plans that truly fit each client's needs.
What drives my practice is the conviction that the most meaningful progress happens when we work together as a team. I collaborate closely with you, your child, and the important people in your lives—whether that's family members, teachers, or other professionals—to ensure everyone is aligned and actively engaged in supporting positive change.
Areas of Practice
Some of the services that I currently offer are:
Comprehensive diagnostic assessments for developmental, cognitive, and social differences
Psychotherapeutic interventions for children, adolescents and adults
Family consultation and support services
Culturally responsive treatment approaches
My diagnostic philosophy emphasizes careful, evidence-based assessment using DSM-5-TR criteria. I believe in taking time to thoroughly understand each client’s unique presentation while ensuring they receive the support they need throughout the process.
Beyond the Office
When I'm not working with clients and families, you'll likely find me at home with my own family—I'm a proud husband and father to two amazing children who keep me on my toes and constantly remind me why this work matters so much. I love tackling puzzles and crosswords (always done in pen to keep the stakes high!) and I enjoy unwinding in the kitchen, cooking meals for my family. There's nothing quite like gathering around the table to share good food and great conversation—sometimes with a nice glass of wine to complement the meal.
My Commitment to You
At the heart of everything I do are three core values: responsibility, autonomy, and integrity. These guiding principles are the cornerstone to my approach not only to Psychology but to life. I'm committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where you, your child and anyone else involved in your life feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we'll work toward building resilience, enhancing well-being, and celebrating the meaningful progress that comes from recognizing and building on your own inherent strengths.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support your journey toward greater understanding, connection, and growth.
